Cell Phone Water Damage Repair Tips
During the summer, more and more people need cell phone water damage repair services. With the weather being hot, and people going to the beach, heading up to the lake or hanging out by the pool, invariably lots of cell phones suffer accidental water damage. Cell phone water damage requires fast attention! If you wait too long, the damage may be too much to be repaired.
Cell phone water damage of any kind can be extremely destructive to your phone. Why is water damage so serious? Water contact of any kind can be detrimental to your phone, as it can short circuit or erode your phone’s delicate electronic components and inner workings.
Ocean water contains a lot of salt, which makes it highly corrosive. Because of this corrosive tendency, damage happens very quickly when your phone comes into contact with ocean water.
Pool water contains chlorine, which is also highly corrosive. Chlorine and other pool chemicals quickly destroy your phone’s electronic components and can cause irreparable damage if not treated quickly.
Household water is also corrosive because it contains chemicals, such as chlorine, mineral deposits and other substances that are dangerous to your phone’s components. Although household water does not cause damage or corrosion as quickly, it can cause irreversible water damage to your cell phone if it isn’t taken care of quickly.
Do not put it in the microwave or try to dry it with a hair dryer! Adding heat to a water damaged cell phone can only increase the damage and corrosion. You need to get it to a water damage repair specialist who can quickly take the phone apart, clean the phone’s delicate components, and assess the damage quickly and accurately.
If your phone gets wet, follow these steps:
1. Do NOT turn your water damaged cell phone on! This will cause it to short out and could cause permanent damage.
2. Remove the battery immediately.
3. Do NOT use a blow dryer! Although your phone may seem to be dry, the inside circuit board will still be wet.
4. Use a Zip-Lock Bag. Put the WET phone into a Zip-Lock bag and ship it to a cell phone water damage repair specialist immediately.
How to Knock Someone Out With One Punch
It is actually not as hard as many people think to knock someone out with one punch. Watching a boxing match, mixed martial arts fight, or other combat sports you can get the impression that a knockout punch is something very difficult to get right. But in real life, in a street confrontation with no gloves and fighting against someone who is probably not trained to take a punch, getting a k.o. is much, much easier.
If you want to learn how to knock someone out with one punch the first thing you have to do is to think about what it actually is which causes the loss of consciousness. Some types of punch can be very effective at hurting your opponent, opening up cuts on their face or breaking their nose, but may still have little or no chance of knocking them out.
When a person gets knocked unconscious by a punch it is not the immediate force of the impact which does this, but rather the force of the brain being rattled against the inside of the skull.
This means that a punch which causes the head to jerk and move rapidly will be much more likely to knock someone out than a punch which causes less movement of the head, even if it is not as hard. It also means that speed is paramount. A very fast strike with just enough power to move the head will be more likely to knock someone out than a slower punch which has more power and weight behind it.
The need to create this movement of the head is the reason why you are more likely to knock someone out with a punch which they don’t see coming. If you see a punch coming towards you you will tense your neck muscles and brace yourself against the impact, reducing the movement of your head when the punch lands. If your neck muscles are relaxed when a punch hits you then you will almost always get knocked out, whatever kind of punch it is.
Once a fight has started it is very difficult to engineer a situation where your opponent will not see a punch coming, however if you are in a situation where you are being threatened and a fight seems inevitable, but hasn’t yet started, you can take advantage of this by suddenly throwing the first punch at an unexpected moment, such as while you are in the middle of a sentence, and by striking from a direction where they will not see it until it is too late.
When it comes to the actual punch a strike from the side, such as a hook, is more likely to knock someone out than a straight punch to the front of the face, simply because it will be harder for the neck muscles to prevent the head from being jerked. For the same reason an uppercut is generally better than a straight punch, but probably not as good as a hook. When trying to knock someone out with a hook the further away from the neck you can land the punch the more movement there will be and the more likely it is to knock them out. This means that the best place to land a hook is right on the end of the chin.
The ultimate knockout punch, however, uses and entirely different method. Rather than jerking the knead it uses the principles of Dim Mak pressure point fighting. The ultimate knockout punch is a strike to the temple. You have to be very accurate to get this right, but with practice you can do it every time.
The only trick you must know in order to knock someone out with a strike to the temple is how to hold your hand. It should be clear that an ordinary fist is much bigger than the area of the temple, and so it is very poor at focusing force on this pressure point.
There are two hand forms you can use instead. The first is the phoenix fist, in which you hold an ordinary fist but with the middle finger raised up a little out of the bunch. When using this you strike with the middle joint of the raised finger, rather than the knuckle.
The other option, which I personally prefer, is to use a sword hand. To do this hold your hand out flat with the palm facing downwards and turn your wrist so that your fingers are pointing outwards. This creates a fairly sharp point from the joint at the very base of the thumb, just above the wrist. With this hand form you strike using a swinging motion of the arm.
When practicing either of these strikes power is virtually irrelevant, and accuracy is everything. If you land a strike with the whole force focused on the temple you will knock your opponent out every time, no matter how hard the strike is.
How To Cook Shrimp
When you want to cook shrimp but have never done it before you will need to know how to cook shrimp. There are many ways that you can use when cooking shrimp. The way that you choose will depend on the way that you like to do it. You can find out very easily how to cook shrimp when you look on the internet or buy a cookbook about shrimp. However, here is how to cook shrimp to help you get started.
One thing before you learn how to cook shrimp is that you want to buy shrimp that is frozen with their shells still on if you can. You don’t have to but the shells will help to protect the meat of the shrimp and add more flavor to it. You can either cook the shrimp with their shells off or leave the shells on and then remove them after you have cooked them.
I am going to tell you how to cook a pound of shrimp so if you want to cook less or more than a pound you will have to find out how. It will be pretty much the same for all batches of shrimp, you will just have to use more or less of everything to cook it.
For a pound of shrimp you will want to bring two quarts of water to a boil. You will then want to salt the water lightly. If you prefer you can add lemon juice to the water, this is optional though so do it however you prefer.
Once the water is at a boil you will want to shut off the heat that is under the water. You then add the shrimp to the water all at once. Once in the water you want to let them steep for about 3 to 5 minutes. Shrimp are better when you cook them gently.
You will want to check to see if the shrimp is done by cutting one in half. If the flesh is opaque throughout then the shrimp is done. When they are done you will want to get them out of the water immediately. If you cooked them with the shell on then you will want to now take the shell off.
Here are a few other ways that you can use when cooking shrimp. You can quickly boil or poach them, which is the most common method, put them in a skillet with butter or oil, in a fryer, on a barbecue grill, a steamer, or in a hot oven.
When you learn how to cook shrimp you may want to learn about how to do it a couple of different ways until you find the way that you like the best. Shrimp is good no matter what way you do it if you don’t overcook it. Learn what you can before you start cooking shrimp so you don’t ruin the shrimp since it is expensive to buy.

How To Make Primitive Snowmen Ornaments Out Of Cotton Batting
Love snowmen? Like to decorate your home with snowmen during the entire winter season? If so, I have a really easy snowman project to share with you today. This project is easy enough that even a beginner crafter can master making one…or several of them in just one afternoon.
You will need just a handful of basic sewing and craft supplies that can be purchased at your general craft supply store. I used a sewing machine to make mine but you can certainly hand stitch him together too!
Here are the supplies you will need to make one.
Warm ‘n Natural Cotton Batting (natural off-white color)
Black Embroidery Floss
Orange Fimo Clay (just a tiny pea sized amount)
2 Plastic 4 MM Round Beads
Scrap of Homespun Cotton Fabric (measuring 1/2″ by 7″ in length for scarf)
Sharp Fabric Scissors
Sewing Machine and Basic Sewing Supplies
Clear Drying Modge Podge (decoupage medium)
Clear Crystal Glitter (fine grade)
Foam Stenciling Brush
Pattern
To Make Your Pattern: Hand draw a snowman shape onto paper that measures approximately 6″ tall by 4 1/2″ wide at his widest point. Cut out your shape and use as your pattern template.
Use your paper pattern and trace around it onto two pieces of cotton batting. Cut out the pieces. In a plastic cup or throw away bowl, pour 5 tablespoons of Modge Podge into the bowl along with 5 tablespoons of water. Stir until combined. Sprinkle in 1 to to 2 teaspoons of the glitter and stir again. Using your foam stenciling brush, brush the mixture across both pieces of your batting. Let air dry. (takes about 1 hour to completely dry).
Using six strands of black embroidery floss, stitch two X’s onto his face to resemble his eyes, fasten off in the back so your ends and knots don’t show on the front. Using a pea sized piece of orange Fimo clay, roll it out in the shape of a carrot for his nose. Bake the nose in the oven according to the package directions on your clay pack. Using three strands of black embroidery floss, attach your two round plastic beads onto the snowman’s belly to resemble is black coat buttons, fasten floss off in the back so knots don’t show on the front.
Using your sewing machine, place wrong sides together and straight stitch 1/8″ in from the edges, leaving the bottom of the snowman open for turning. Once done, turn him right side out and finish the bottom edge stitching by hand. Cut a piece of homespun cotton fabric into a strip that measures 1/2″ by 7″ in length and tie it around his neck to resemble his scarf.
Variations: If you want to turn it into an ornament, thread a piece of white floss through the top to hang him on your tree or packages. If you want to turn him into a refrigerator magnet, glue 2-3 magnet disks onto his back side with hot glue or craft glue.
Quick And Easy Way to Make Homemade Potato Chips
Oh, how I ADORE potato chips. Ever since I can remember, I hoarded the potato chip bag and could hardly manage to share. Yes, how self-absorbed ! So, to get over my selfishness, I decided to share my passion for potato chips by always having a supply on hand – without having to run to the store every 3 or 4 days!
At any rate, I may convert you to a snack-aholic with these beyond belief homemade potato chips that are simple to make and you’ll never want to go back to the bagged, store-bought kind again. Trust me, you’ll love them!
Are you the creative type? How about making your chips of the mixed variety? Make them not just with Russet potatoes, but try making some of your chips from Finnish yellow or Peruvian purple potatoes.
Just be aware that each kind of potato has its own moisture content. So, you’ll need to fry up batches individually. Once finished, you’ll have a lovely mix of homemade delicacies – no longer everyday, but splendidly done potato chips.
Making your own potato chips doesn’t have to be a chore. Enjoy frying up fresh batches and sharing them with your family and friends. The freshness makes such a huge difference and the people you share with, will love you for the little bit of extra effort.
What you’ll need:
- 4 large russet potatoes
- large bowl of ice water
- 2 quarts of peanut oil
- sea salt to taste
- Electric fryer
First, scrub, your potatoes thoroughly. Get all that earthy stuff off of them until they are as clean as they’ll get. Then, with a sharp knife, thinly slice the potatoes, or use a vegetable slicing machine. Place the slices in a the bowl of ice water and soak for 1 hour.
With your electric deep-fat fryer or deep-fat fryer, pour in the oil to a depth of 4 to 5 inches, making sure that the oil doesn’t come up the sides of your pot more than halfway. Heat the oil until the temperature registers between 375 and 400 degrees F. Use a deep-fat thermometer to gage the temperature.
Drain your slices and pat dry with some paper towels. Fry the slices in small batches until golden brown. Turn them frequently using a slotted spoon. Then, transfer your chips to a paper towel to drain.
Season your chips with the salt or use your favorite seasoned salt like Dash or Spike. Seasoned salt gives plain old potato chips a face lift. But go easy! A little seasoned salt goes a long ways.
You can serve these beautiful chips either warm (absolutely my favorite way) or cold. Or, just store them in an air tight container. Definitely make sure you have more on hand than you think you’ll need, because these yummy potato chips will disappear faster than you can say, “Potato Chip Heaven!”
How to Make Homemade Pancake Syrup
Hopefully you know that you can’t make homemade maple syrup unless you several maple trees, the right equipment, and a lot of time. Even then, with just a few trees, you won’t make much at all. If you are still looking for a more homemade taste for your pancake and waffle syrup, you can make the artificial stuff from scratch. This is also good if you ran out of syrup but have the other ingredients and don’t feel like driving out to the store or if you want to know exactly what is going into your food and not a bunch of preservatives.
First you will need a saucepan and wooden spoons as well as the following ingredients and amounts: one cup of granulated sugar, one cup of brown sugar, one cup of water, ¼ teaspoon of vanilla extract and ¼ teaspoon of maple extract. If you don’t have any brown sugar, you can use all granulated or white sugar, but it won’t be as dark and rich. You could even experiment with dark brown sugar if you would like.
Next, mix the water and both the sugars in the saucepan. Place it on the stove on medium high and bring it to a boil. Let it simmer for about 10 to 15 minutes or until it is thick enough for your liking. I prefer it to be nice and thick so that it doesn’t soak into my pancakes or French toast so easily and make it soggy. A thinner syrup will resemble more the consistency of real maple syrup. Test it out for the best way that you like.
You can either use your maple syrup immediately or store it in the refrigerator. Use an old syrup container, jar, or squeeze top water bottle to store your syrup. If you want thicker syrup, you can use more sugar or less water and you can double or triple the recipe if you would like. You can store the syrup in the refrigerator for weeks and if it hardens up just put it in the microwave for a little until it’s to the consistency you like. Warm syrup always tastes good, too. If you like butter-flavored syrup, you can also add a couple tablespoons of butter to your syrup, or just butter your pancakes, waffles, or French toast.
Why should you make your own syrup? Some people don’t like the taste of real maple syrup, but want something that isn’t full of corn syrup, which is what you will get in the store. It is cheaper especially considering that it’s homemade. Best of all, isn’t homemade always better?
How to Cook Swiss Chard
Of all the fresh greens that you can find in your supermarket’s produce section, none is as nutritious for you as Swiss chard. Really, it is bursting with good things, from huge amounts of vitamin A and vitamin C to lots and lots of phytonutrients. Even the ancient Greeks and Romans praised chard for its health-giving properties.
Flavor-wise, you’ll find that Swiss chard falls somewhere between the slightly salty taste of spinach and the somewhat bitter taste of beet greens. Both the leaves and the stems of chard can be eaten.
Swiss chard is available year round in most places, although by most accounts it is at its peak of taste in the summer months. I have personally bought and enjoyed it even in the depths of January and February.
If you can get hold of young chard, which is the most tender, you can eat it raw in salads or as a flavorful alternative to lettuce in sandwiches.
As for cooking Swiss chard, feel free to use it instead of spinach in any recipe. You’ll have to cook it slightly longer than you would spinach, and perhaps a good bit longer if it is older chard.
Chard can be used in place of spinach in any recipe, although chard will need to be cooked a bit longer. When cooking older chard, the stems require longer cooking time than the leaves. You might find that you need to separate the stems from the leaves and cook them separately, with the stems requiring a longer cooking time because of their thickness.
Here’s an easy recipe for cooking Swiss chard:
Ingredients
1 to 2 pounds Swiss chard, thoroughly washed and drained
2 to 4 tablespoons olive oil (2 tablespoons per pound of chard)
2 cloves of garlic, minced
Salt
Ground black pepper
Directions
1. Remove leaves of chard from their stems; chop stems into bite-sized pieces.
2. Stack or roll the leaves together and slice them into smaller strips using a sharp knife.
3. Heat a skillet over medium-high heat. Place olive oil, chopped chard stems and minced garlic in skillet and saute 4 to 6 minutes.
4. Add the chard leaves a bunch at a time as you stir. Once all the leaves are in the skillet, cover with a lid and allow to cook for another 4 to 6 minutes, or until the greens look wilted.
5. Remove the lid. Turn heat to high and continue cooking approximately 2 more minutes, or until all liquid has evaporated.
6. Season with salt and pepper to taste, and serve.
Cruise Ships For Sale
We all know that cruise ships are great getaway on the high seas. But did you know that cruise ships in all shapes and sizes are available for sale? Depending on your budget, you could buy a cruise ship for a steal at $2 million, or the price can rise into the millions. The price depends on the size of the ship, passenger amenities and its condition. The metal used in building the ship is important too, because rust would prove to be a negative selling point.
Most cruise ships have staterooms, public rooms, cabins, scullery (pantries), dining halls, entertainment areas and swimming pools. Space for retail outlets such as bookstores, gift, souvenir shops and hair salons, may or may not be present depending on the cruise ship. A spa, health and fitness club, and sports bar are also built into most of the cruise liners. Sanitary facilities should be examined closely in all cabins and public areas to know what basic amenities are available.
The scullery usually is equipped with all necessary appliances including ovens (conventional, convection and microwave), stoves, toasters, refrigerators, coolers, pots and pans and all the ingredients to provide the guests with the best meals during their journey.
Passenger observation decks are on most cruise ships to allow passengers to enjoy the beauty of the sea while the ship is on the move. Most of the cruise ships also come equipped with a casino housing gaming tables like blackjack, roulette, poker, dice and slot machines. There is usually a satellite connection for televisions provided in all the mega liners to entertain guests.
Some of the most important amenities on a cruise ship are located in the pump room, chiller room and office rooms. Other important cruise ship information would include the security available for guests and their valuables, provisions to store perishables, makes and models of engines; space allocated for engines, generators and the rudder rooms. New cruise ships come with electrical fittings, heavy machinery such as the engines, other machinery such as those used for steering the ship, deck machinery, air compressors, fire, bilge and other necessary pumps in the pump rooms — all the equipment required for securing and mooring the ship.
Last but not least, the cruise ship must be equipped with lifesaving equipment, as well as first aid kits to handle any emergencies. Fire extinguishers with hoses and spanners, lifebuoys, life floats, rescue boats, distress signals such as flares, common bandages, medicine chest etc., form the major part of the emergency paraphernalia.
Before buying a cruise ship, the buyer needs to do some homework to make sure that the condition of the ship is acceptable, as well as all technical matters pertaining to the ship’s ability to function properly.
There are excellent websites on the Internet that provide details about various cruise ships on sale. Browsing through these will give you a good idea of the price range and amenities to look for in a cruise before signing on an agreement.
